Female abs: Part Three. Foods that are considered to be fat burning help our bodies to flush out toxins and burn more calories. As we’ve been discussing, a nutritional diet and exercise is the key to losing fat and slimming down abs. These fat burning foods are not only nutritious but will help you burn more calories and boost your metabolism to get muscle definition in female abs faster!

Try using Cinnamon to flavour food, I know this is not technically a food, but I had to put this with the list of fat burning foods because it has been proven to burn sugar twenty percent faster and helps to lower your blood sugar levels. Try sprinkling some cinnamon on top of your morning oatmeal at breakfast or sprinkle over some yoghurt for an afternoon snack.



Ginger fresh or dried is another fat burning food or spice that increase body heat and detoxifies your body. Ginger burns fat twenty percent faster and has been proven to increase circulation.Take a trip to your local health food stores juice bar and order some freshly squeezed vegetable juice that has fresh ginger blended in it. I promise your body will be humming all day!

Remember to pick bright coloured fruits and vegetable when snacking and planning meals. These types of vegetables are loaded with vitamin C which help flush unwanted fat from our bodies. Celery, limes, oranges grapefruit and any type of berries, broccoli, parsley are just a few example of foods that help your body burn calories while providing good nutrition.

Protein is one of the most important foods we can eat to help our bodies tone calorie burning muscle. Turkey, egg whites, nuts and legumes are just a few examples of protein rich foods. Protein is essential for healthy bodies because our body organs need it to function. They have lttle if no carbohydrates and speed up our body’s’ metabolism. Proteins digest in our bodies slower. Eating lean protein helps maintain even blood sugar levels keeping our hunger signals away longer while boosting our metabolism. Most importantly proteins help keep muscles like female abs toned and strong.



I thought I would add this short video because sometimes I have a habit of making things sound more confusing than they are. Anyway I was on YouTube today and I found this really short video, If I remember right it’s only about one and a half minutes long but it does a really great job of condensing and summarising a lot of the stuff I tried to explain in Female Abs parts one and two. When talking about female abs, nutrition is something which I always get lots of questions about. I always have and it’s likely I always will. The main problem people have with nutrition is that they are suffering from information overload.

There is so much information out there what should you listen to? Some people say to have a low fat diet, others say cut out carbs, and others say high protein, so, which is right?

The answer is they are all right, don’t over complicate nutrition at the end of the day its really simple. I have a couple of golden rules which I advise people to follow which I think help to keep nutrition nice and easy.



Female Abs: Rule 1- Eat everything! Ehhh???? I know what you are thinking, how can you get great looking female abs by eating everything? Well by everything I don’t mean everything you can get your hands on, that will only get you fat, I mean everything in the sense of a balanced diet. Don’t only eat protein, or exclude fat from your diet. If you are doing sufficient cardio work you should be able to eat a balance diet, supply your body with all the nutrients it needs while keeping in great shape and more importantly making your abs shine.

When you are doing exercise you really shouldn’t need to worry about calories, your body is like a car, it needs energy. In the case of a car the energy is petrol or diesel, in the case of your body the energy is food. If you don’t eat what happens? Obviously you will start to loose weight, feel really weak and eventually it will damage your health. This is obvious but think of why this happens? If you don’t put any petrol in your car what happens when you run out? The car won’t go anymore will it? Well your body is exactly the same except when your body’s fuel tank gets to empty it essentially starts to eat its self as a source of energy, once its used up all the food what’s left to use? Two things: fat and muscle.

When a car is switched of it does not use any energy, and although a car cant eat itself, if it could it wouldn’t need to because it can completely shut off. We however as humans cannot, so we always need energy hence we always need food. Ok so I have kind of went off at a tangent here so let me summarise this rule.

Try to eat a complete diet but use common sense, you don’t need a dietician to know that you shouldn’t be eating chocolate, crisps, chips, take away etc, that’s just common sense so use it.



Also don’t eat any processed foods, by that I mean ready meals etc. Prepare all your meals that way you can control every ingredient that goes into it. I heard somewhere that the item with most calories in McDonalds is the BBQ sauce! Now I cant be sure if this is true or not but it serves the point I’m trying to make, when you buy processed foods, unless you are capable of reading the labels which can be misleading and confusing, you don’t know what’s actually in it. To avoid this make all your meals with fresh ingredients and not only will you appreciate and enjoy your food a lot better but you will benefit form it hugely when it comes to getting the best from those great female abs. Ok to summarise yet again, eat a balanced diet and apply common sense.

Female Abs: Rule 2- Eat Little And Often

Now this might sound cliché but if it’s so obvious how come you still don’t do it? If you are like 90% of the people out there you are lucky if you eat 3 meals a day. From now on I want you to eat 6 meals a day.

At this point you are probably thinking I’m mad, but that’s because you likely don’t understand what I mean by “meal”. A meal doesn’t have to be a Sunday roast! Obviously if you eat 6 of those a day your abs would not be very visible at all. A meal can be a yogurt, or some mixed peanuts, by 6 meals a day I mean 6 small portions. You shouldn’t be consuming more calories than normal, you should be eating the same amount but just divide it up over more meals.

So lets say at the moment you skip breakfast but you have lunch and dinner plus all the bits and pieces you eat throughout the day. Your total calories is 2000, what I want you to do in the future is still eat 2000 but divide it up over 6 meals so each small portion should be approximately 333 calories. Do you understand what I mean? I hope so, if not leave a comment and I’ll explain it more.

The idea behind this is that it speeds up your metabolism, put simply you burn more calories in your day-to-day life if you eat more often than not.



Female Abs: Rule 3- Don’ Eat For The Sake Of It!

This last rule is again some common sense but not enough people apply it. Have you ever wandered into the kitchen, opened the fridge, closed the fridge went back to the living room then 10 minutes later you do exactly the same thing except come back with crisps or a biscuit? This is eating for the sake of it. Unless its time for one of your planned 6 meals a day don’t eat. To go back to my previous example, treat you body like a machine, unless you have some planned activity don’t eat for the sake of it, your body doesn’t have a use for the energy you supply it and as a result puts it into its reserve tank aka fat. Always remember this, its not like the common phrase if you don’t use it you don’t use it you lose it, in your body if you don’t lose it you store it until you do use it.

Everyone wants to have great female abs, without a doubt abs are the part of your body which people are most likely going to sit up and take notice when you walk past. This is the first part in a three part series of information on how to achieve great female abs.

When most people make the decision to improve their abs they usually set about some mad routine, which usually includes a ton of sit-ups or exercises, which are designed to target the mid section of their body. While it is possible to improve your abs by doing stomach based exercises you wont be able to see the benefits until you deal directly with fat.

Fat is the main reason why people fail to achieve the abs they want. You can do all the abs exercises you want but if your body fat percentage is too high you will never get to see them.



I’ve heard people with a lot of excess stomach fat joke “I have a six pack, it’s just under a layer of fat!” While this is meant as a joke, this is exactly the case for 99% of people.

You can have the best abs in the world but if you don’t strip the fat from on top of them you will never get to see them. So how do you do this? Well unlike most people I’m not going to tell you to go buy some strange looking stomach machine, or do 10,000 sit-ups per day, what I want you to do is cardio.

Cardio Vascular exercise is not only good overall for your health, but its one of the best ways to lower your body fat percentage. Cardio burns fat!

Did you know that it takes extended exercise before you will actually start to burn fat? Fat is one of the best energy storages we have in our body, as there is plenty of it. The problem though is that it is notoriously difficult to break down as use properly. Before our bodies even think about using fat for energy it first burns through other storage.

Try to concentrate on your heart rate when trying to burn fat, it needs to be kept I the fat burning zone.  What I am about to tell you is only applicable if you are already in decent shape, if you are over weight then you need to be up nearer 80% of you maximum heart rate, this ensures that you lose weight first before you try to tone. Exercising in the fat burning zone 60-65% of your maximum heart rate is where you will burn the optimum percentage of fat because the body has enough time to break down the fat and use it as fat, go above this percentage and work harder and the body needs energy faster and will result in burning carbohydrates.

TIP! Work out what your fat burning zone is by deducting your age from 220, then working out 60% of that number. For example for a 20-year-old female: 220 minus 20 is 200, 60% of 200 is 120 beats per minute.

Ok that’s the first instalment of this series then, I hope this has helped clear up the myth that in order to get great abs you need to do sit-up until you drop, the truth is that although you d need strong abs, no matter how big ad strong they are, you will never see them if you have a layer of fat covering them, so get out there and do cardio, cardio cardio and I promise your female abs will look great!
